Escalation is a film that honestly and compellingly tells the story of an abusive relationship between characters Paige and Chase – from its sweet beginnings to the tragic end. This authentic depiction of unhealthy behaviors escalating into abuse and violence helps participants of the Escalation Workshop understand and recognize the early warning signs of relationship abuse, as well as how to help a friend.
The film depicts examples of unhealthy relationships, across romantic, friendship, and sibling relationships. Sometimes this can be hard to watch.
The workshops are intended for youth 9th grade to college and parents are absolutely invited. You are important to and knowing the signs of TDV saves lives. Something as parents we unfortunately where not educated on in Ally's relationship that cost her life.
In this workshop, you’ll watch One Love’s 42 minute film, Escalation after a brief introduction. After the movie, participants are then split into youth and parents group for a guided discussion, then rejoined for a final discussion.
Conclusion:
At the end of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of what unhealthy relationships look like, the signs to spot them and a better understanding of why knowing is a matter of life or death.
